Just like most people, I have spent years bouncing from diet to diet, looking for a way to lose weight and get healthy.
On a recent trip to visit family in Europe it occurred to me that there were a lot less overweight people there, despite them eating more calories than I did.
When I returned home I started to look into WHY that was the case - what was so different between their food and ours that we in North America struggle with our weight and have for decades now.
The answer, as it turns out, is they simply do not eat the kinds of processed food that we eat in North America. Their diet is based more on whole foods, with two or three meals per day and very little snacking.
I personally have embraced a low-carb, whole food way of eating and have seen improvements in everything from my skin to my mood. I lost weight, have more energy, better mental focus and almost no inflammation.
